Elopements with Rose + Horizon

If you know me at all, you know I absolutely love a full wedding day.

The energy. The people. The dance floor. The way everything builds and unfolds and somehow becomes this beautiful, emotional whirlwind of a story.

But over the last few years, something else has quietly tugged at my heart.

The quiet vows.
The windswept skies.
The kind of day where it’s just the two of you (or maybe a handful of your favorite humans), standing on a mountain or lakeshore at sunset, promising forever.

And I can’t lie… I get a little geeked out thinking about it.

There is something incredibly powerful about stripping a wedding day down to what matters most. No pressure. No production. Just intention. Just joy. Just the two of you choosing each other.

So I’m officially opening space for something new.

I’ll be photographing a very limited number of elopements each year through Rose + Horizon — intimate weddings rooted in connection, beautiful locations, and that golden-hour magic I will forever be obsessed with.

When I think about elopements, I picture:
– Michigan dunes with wind in your dress and veil
– A quiet lakeshore Airbnb morning with coffee and slow getting-ready moments
– Hiking to a scenic overlook and reading private vows
– Traveling somewhere that feels meaningful to you and making an adventure out of it

And here’s the thing: just because it’s smaller doesn’t mean it’s simpler or less meaningful. If anything, it allows more space. More presence. More emotion. More time to wander, explore, and create portraits that feel like you.

You still get my timeline guidance (yes, even if it’s just the two of you — I can’t help myself 😄).

You still get my calm, organized energy.

You still get me chasing the best light and getting genuinely excited when everything lines up perfectly.

I’m not stepping away from full wedding days — I love them too much for that. This is simply an intentional extension of what I already care deeply about: helping couples create a wedding day that feels right for them.

Because your vows deserve to be an unforgettable expression of your bond — whether that happens in front of 200 guests or just the horizon.

Since I’ll only be taking on a couple of elopements per year, these dates will be limited. If you’re dreaming about something intimate, joyful, a little adventurous, and full of heart, I would love to talk about what that could look like for you.

Let’s go find your horizon.
