I had the absolute pleasure of finally meeting Sami and Jack over the weekend! Visiting family here in Michigan from their home near Chicago, they decided to check out Grand Rapids for the first time during their engagement session — and it turned out to be the perfect introduction to the city.

These two are such a sweet, adorable couple — easygoing, full of laughter, and so fun to be around. Their session was filled with genuine smiles and my favorite “gaze lovingly (and awkwardly!) into each other’s eyes” pose, which always leads to the best kind of real grins and joyful moments I love capturing.

We started off in the Heritage Hill neighborhood before heading downtown, stopping by some of my favorite photo spots (and nearly crashing someone’s proposal — oops!). We wrapped things up with a quick “drink” at Rendevouz before they headed off to dinner. I also learned that Sami is a big Taylor Swift fan, which makes me even more excited to see what kind of wedding-day vibes these two bring next year!

It was such a treat showing them a little piece of our beautiful city, even with the lively downtown traffic that evening. I’ll get to see these two again next year for their wedding at Bay Pointe Woods, and I honestly can’t wait!
