From the moment I met Alejandro and Sarah, I had a feeling their wedding day was going to be something truly special. They are two of the kindest, most genuine people you could hope to meet—warm, thoughtful, and so clearly in love. Every step of the planning process was easy and enjoyable, and by the time their day at Bay Pointe arrived, I couldn’t wait to celebrate alongside them.
Their wedding was beautifully true to who they are. Instead of a packed timeline or elaborate traditions, they envisioned a relaxed celebration surrounded by their favorite people. With a smaller guest list, the goal was to make their day feel intimate and welcoming, giving guests the chance to enjoy the setting, mingle, reconnect, and simply be present. And that is exactly how the day unfolded—unhurried, heartfelt, and filled with meaningful moments.
Bay Pointe’s Lakeside Pavilion on Gun Lake ended up being the perfect backdrop. They discovered the venue online and were immediately drawn to its charm, the convenience of included catering and coordination, and the stunning lake views. It offered the atmosphere they hoped for: elegant without being overdone, natural, airy, and peaceful.
Their décor also reflected their personalities—minimal, thoughtful, and personal. With Alejandro’s career rooted in nautical work and their relationship touched by that part of his life, they incorporated subtle maritime details throughout the day. Everything was tied together with soft shades of blue, a color they both love, which perfectly complemented the bright lakefront setting and added a clean, timeless feel.
One of the sweetest details I learned while working with them is how much Alejandro wanted Sarah to feel beautiful on her wedding day. And she was SO beautiful! From her first steps into her gown to the way he looked at her throughout the day, she just glowed. It was one of those weddings where you could feel how deeply a couple cares for one another without a word being said.
The celebration continued into the evening with good food, good company, and music provided by DJs who also happened to be close friends of the couple—traveling all the way from Chicago to be part of the day. With the lake just beyond the walls of the pavilion and their friends and family nearby, the atmosphere could not have been more perfect.
Alejandro and Sarah, it was a joy to photograph your wedding and to walk alongside you during the planning process. Thank you for trusting me with such an important chapter of your story. I can’t wait to see where life takes you next, on the water and beyond.
